Monthly Health Camps in El Sobrante, CA
Daya S. Atwal is Lead Student Volunteer Coordinator at The Sikh Health Network (SNH), responsible for organizing and supporting volunteer recruitment efforts, facilitating the setup process, and engaging healthcare providers and volunteers to ensure impactful community health initiatives.
Since 2022, a dedicated team of healthcare professionals and volunteers has been gathering in El Sobrante, California, each month to run a health camp that provides essential medical and dental services to the local community. The monthly camp, organized by the Sikh Health Network, brings together people from various backgrounds with the common goal of improving community health.
Serving with Care and Compassion
In these health camps, professionals and volunteers set up mobile clinics with advanced portable equipment, allowing us to offer services such as dental X-rays and comprehensive check-ups. Each station is carefully arranged to ensure efficient care, from sterilization stations to portable dental chairs. The camp operates with a system that allows smooth patient flow, ensuring everyone receives personalized attention.
A Team Effort
Each camp is truly a team effort. Skilled professionals, like the woman in vibrant purple assisting with dental X-rays, bring expertise and warmth to the experience. Volunteers, including students and community members, handle tasks such as setup, patient intake, and assistance in sterilization to ensure a safe and seamless process.
A Welcoming Space for All
Every health camp is a welcoming space where community members can receive essential health services, ask questions, and learn more about maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Whether it’s the elderly seeking routine check-ups or families coming for dental care, we are here to serve with compassion and dedication.
Our monthly health camps are a testament to the power of community and collaboration. Together, we’re building a healthier, more connected community, one camp at a time.
